    Restoration work has been carried out with the help of panchayat, volunteers and team members. Agaramthen Lake inflow has been divided in three part and the restoration work has been carried out consecutive days. In this 40% of plastic waste, 40% of organic waste and 20 % of other waste.

    A mass tree plantation was organised at Agaramthen Lake area recently to conserve the Agaramthen Wetlands. 300 saplings were planted on day 1 and Over 327 saplings native tree saplings were planted on Day 2 , creating a greenery of 2 acre. The event was organised by involving like minded individuals from Tambaram Thunderbolt and volunteers from Agaramthen village. We are calling for all like minded organisations and individuals to support our globally beneficial cause and help us in the protection and revival of ecosystems of our country, which is critical to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

    As a part of the World Environment day celebrations 2024, the wetland clean up drive was organised at the two Ramsar sites in Chengalpattu - Karikili Birds Sanctuary. More than 150 students, faculty members, NGOs participated in the event. In addition to the clean up drive 50 saplings were planted, more than 76 kg of plastic waste was collected at Karikili.

In addition to the clean up drive 50 saplings were planted in the Forest Guest house at Vedanthangal, more than 117 kg of plastic waste was collected.

    A mass lake cleanup was organised at Agaramthen lake by Eco Society India in collaboration with Saint Gobain Research India, Hindustan Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu State Wetland Authority and Agaramthen Panchayat by mobilizing 100 students, 55 volunteers from Saint Gobain Research India, 65 villagers from Agaramthen Village in an effort to conserve and protect the lake ecosystem. Altogether 1050 kg of plastics and other non biodegradable waste materials washed ashore the lake was removed during the cleanup.
