    World Wetlands Day was celebrated on 2nd February 2026 at the Adyar Estuary, Chennai, under the Tamil Nadu Wetlands Mission. The event aimed to promote awareness on the importance of wetlands and encourage public participation in their conservation. As part of the celebrations, a Nature Walk and Clean-up Activity were organised in coordination with the Chennai Forest Division and in collaboration with SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Ramapuram Campus. Senior officials from the Forest Department and Tamil Nadu State Wetland Authority graced the occasion and highlighted the ecological importance of wetlands, particularly their role in biodiversity conservation, flood mitigation, and climate resilience. Around 100 students actively participated in the programme. During the clean-up drive, 86 kg of waste (mainly soft plastics) was collected, segregated, and handed over for recycling through Spreco Recycling (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., an authorised recycling agency. The initiative also promoted sustainable waste management practices, with collected plastic proposed to be recycled into eco-friendly products. The event successfully enhanced environmental awareness among students and emphasized the importance of community involvement in protecting wetland ecosystems.

    CoinEx Charity, in partnership with Seerakku (NGO), led a major ecological restoration event at Ambattur Lake, Chennai, on 16th August 2025. The initiative, aligned with Tamil Nadu Wetland Mission, aimed to rejuvenate one of the city's key water bodies by planting 2,000 palm seeds.The plantation drive was inaugurated by Thiru Joseph Samuel, MLA (Ambattur), and Shri M. J. Vijay, DIG (Principal, RTC CRPF Avadi). More than 200 CRPF personnel and 50 volunteers participated in the drive. Carried out in line with the Green India Mission and the Tamil Nadu Wetland Mission, in coordination with CRPF and ExNoRa, brought together leaders from government, security forces, and community organisations.

    A waste audit study was conducted by SPRECO as part of the Tamil Nadu Wetlands Mission, with the second wetland waste audit program at pallikaranai. Over 55 college students and volunteers participated in the activities, and a total of 70 kg of waste was collected.

    The magic of Eco-restoration is here. The Pond eco-restoration work at Perungudi, Chennai, done with support from Athena Global Logistics Pvt Ltd. This CSR project helped to restore this 1 acre Pond which has been in neglect for the past 30 years and has been brought back to life. Restoration activity: 1. Removal of invasive vegetation spread over 1.5 acres. 2. Removal of 25 tonnes of garbage. 3. De-silting for a depth of 6 feet to increase the storage capacity of the Pond from 30,58,219 litres to 76,45,549 litres. 4. Provision of inlets and outlet arrangement for the Pond.5. Successfully bringing out behavioral Change among the community by outreach activities.
