A ppt was presented by green fellow about the wetland, important of wetland conservation, types, ramsar convention, no of ramsar sites in Tamilnadu, types of wetlands Following that DC, DFO and DRO also gave a speech on the Importance of water bodies, conservation, encroaching disadvantages, etc.. Students interacted with the district officials about the wetland management.

World Environment Day 2026 was celebrated in various locations across Namakkal District with active participation from government departments, students, NGOS and the public. The district-level celebration was inaugurated by the District Collector, Superintendent of Police, District Forest Officer and Corporation Commissioner at Vedhamaharishi Nagar, Namakkal, where 111 native tree saplings were planted. Similar plantation drives were carried out across all other municipalities and rural development blocks in the presence of their respective officials. As a special initiative 1,000 schools across rural blocks were selected for plantation activities, where five fruit-bearing tree saplings were planted in each school, resulting in the plantation of 5,000 saplings. The Forest Department also conducted plantation programmes in schools and organized clean-up drives in forest areas and temple premises. Also in various schools awareness rallies, environmental pledges, and cloth bag distribution were carried out to promote environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.

Namakkal Forest Division celebrated World Wetland day by organizing a clean up drive near Agayagangai Water falls in Kollihills with 30 student volunteers and conducted an inter school / college level elocution, essay writing, drawing and quiz competition at Children's park, Kollihills on the event of wetland day and around 159 students participated in the programme.
